Well, it’s no secret that many people just have a hard time trusting their trusted legal advisors out there. When asked if the law has a PR problem, our own resident legal eagle, Dean Sperling, had a few comments on the subject:
“I don’t believe ‘law’ has a PR problem, but lawyers certainly do. Lawyer jokes abound. For instance, in the movie Jurassic Park, the lawyer character takes refuge in an outhouse where the tyrannosaurus rex eats him. In the book, however, the lawyer is one of the survivors. The visual gag of the lawyer’s demise generated a lot of laughs. After almost 40 years of practice, I don’t see attorneys having a PR problem with most corporate clients. Not as true, though, when dealing with individuals. Many lawyers come across to their individual clients as having a superior attitude, not caring about the client and their issues in a case, not communicating and being only interested in their fees.
I have found that taking the time to listen, providing honest options to resolve the case if possible or, if not, as to how it can be litigated along with prompt communication goes a long way in establishing trust. Because this is how I do things, I can’t say that I have had many, if any, cases where the client does not trust the advice I am giving. The client may not like that advice as it may not be what they want to hear, but they know I am representing their best interests in the matter.”
And there you have it. Legal disputes are everywhere and when they negatively affect YOU and YOUR business including landlord/tenant matters, contract issues, nuisance ADA claims and even collections, you want someone helping you that you can trust! Dean Sperling will work to resolve YOUR matter with YOUR best interests in mind!
