According to the NY Times, “A dispute over who is the legitimate owner of a Picasso bust of Marie-Thérèse Walter was settled in New York District Court on Monday, but the legal victor remains a mystery.”
It seems two prominent art collectors both claimed to own the work (others did as well), the plaster entitled “Bust of a Woman.” (catchy?). But they decided to settle and of course the court has not disclosed any further details.
So somebody won or maybe they both did? That’s how legal settlements work and often times they can be a great option to avoid or shorten expensive and stressful litigation. Dean Sperling Law works to resolve client matters with your best interests in mind.
